Welcome!
I am so excited to have joined the St. Helena Unified School District as Superintendent. I am honored to work alongside the SHUSD Governing Board to achieve our goals of improving academic achievement for ALL, maintaining welcoming and nurturing school environments, and increasing educational partner engagement.
After 33 years in public education, I am a staunch advocate for academic excellence and strive to ensure each classroom and campus is a place I would enroll my own children and grandchildren. St. Helena Unified School District is known for such excellence, and I have already been so impressed with what is occurring each day at all four of our schools. Our teachers, support staff, administrators, parents, and community members all demonstrate immense dedication to the success of our students. I have been awed by the high quality of instruction, positive climate, levels of care, and tireless efforts to ensure each of our 1,100+ students have an extraordinary experience in TK-12.
There will be much more to come as I continue visiting schools, observing in classrooms, attending events, and meeting with partners. I am hopeful that our community will continue to display high levels of engagement with our schools and encourage you to watch for our bi-weekly newsletters and videos, new district website launching in January, “It’s a Wrap” monthly Board Meeting summaries, frequent “Java with Jodi” opportunities, and more. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out as you see me around to say “hello” or discuss an idea or concern. I am here to serve and could not be more honored to be doing so in St. Helena Unified.
Warmly,
Jodi McClay, Ed.D.
Superintendent
