🌟 Staff Spotlight 🌟
Josefina Olvera Garcia
Role: Secretary-Academic Service, Senior

Favorite Part of the Job: My favorite part of my job is the relationships I’ve built with my coworkers and the confidence I’ve gained. Tackling challenging projects where I initially doubt myself has helped me build momentum toward my dream of becoming the director of the Special Education department.

Fun Fact: I love to bake! While I once dreamed of owning a bakery, I now enjoy trying new desserts and sharing my creations with family and friends. Baking is my creative outlet and a way to spread joy.

Inspiration: I’m inspired by two incredible people: Gigi, a little girl with special needs I worked with as a nanny, and my cousin Montse, who had Down syndrome. They taught me perseverance, unconditional love, and the value of advocacy, driving my passion to empower students of all abilities.

Wellness Corner ❤️
Prioritizing Self-Care
Here are some simple tips to help you and your family stay balanced:

1. Take Time to Recharge 🧘‍♀️
  • Dedicate at least 15 minutes a day to an activity that brings you peace—whether it’s reading, meditating, or taking a quiet walk.
2. Stay Active 🚶‍♂️
  • Movement can boost mood and reduce stress. Bundle up and take a brisk walk, or explore a local park.
3. Practice Gratitude 🙏
  • Reflect on what you’re thankful for. Encourage your children or family members to share something positive from their day.
4. Seek Support If Needed 🌟
  • Remember, it’s okay to ask for help. If you or your family are feeling overwhelmed, reach out to community resources or trusted friends.
